Evaluation powerpoint

For our evaluations we had to create a power point.

In this we had to answer 7 questions related to our opening film. we also included screen grabs and pictures to illustrate our points and links to our films we created.

This took a long time to complete as we went into a lot of detail.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Target Audience

Our specific target audience for our opening is children between the ages of 2-8. We think this would be a good age group to target because our intention for the rest of the film would be that it is simple. We have used cartoon characters which is more appealing to children.

The final product

This is the final product, as a group we are unhappy with the outcome and are very disappointed. But we also feel we have learnt a lot for our next task, we will not do stop motion again as it is very difficult to get the desired effect.

Evaluation

We have found that this way of producing a children's film was difficult because we have used some of our time developing new skills to then be able to make the film opening. We spent a lot of time learning how to use photoshop. If we redid our opening we would not use stock motion because it is very time consuming. Before starting our project we were not aware of how long it would take us in comparison to the time it would of taken us if we had filmed.

Furthermore the quality of the images are not as good as we expected. As we had to spend a lot of time learning how to use the new program we were unable to make the opening as good as we expected! However, our original plan was to use stop motion to do our opening. We decided that stop motion would be difficult because we were using string and our fairies and other props were not double sided therefore it was unpredictable.

FINAL DAY

We are making final touches to our children's film today. Firstly we began by lengthening the sound so that it lasts for the duration of the opening. Then we photoshopped two fairies which we then added into the opening. Also we added four titles into the opening.

Sound, credits and editing

SOUND
During last lesson we completed the sound for the opening to our childrens film. It is calm and has a magical feel to it which will appeal to children. It consists of foreset noises which incudes birds singing, it has an accositc guitar in the backgroung and wand noises which links to the fairy theme. this music will keep the child interested in the film. No loud noises are used as it doesn't connect to the theme and it wounldn't be suitable for the opening of the film. Some sounds are repeted to emphasise the fiary theme.

CREDITS
The creits will consist of various colours and font. This will keep the child interested in the film and the clours will appeal to them more than black bold writing. the credits will move slowly over the screen so the children can read them. The backgroung for the opening scene will stay the same through out, it is a castle this shows that the film will be ste in the castle and we want to keep it simple so it is suitable for the target audience. We want the title Fariy Dust to stand out so this has been created in a different way, we cut out letters from magazines that spell fairy dust and these will appear at the beginning of the film one after the other and then fade for the other credits to continuse for the rest of the film opening.

EDITING
I have realised that the editing of a film is a lot harder than I thought. It is very time consuming and a lot of effort is needed.
The editing is simple so it appeals to the target adudience and so that the credits are seen.
The fairies, cloudes, titles ect will move to andfrom the screne and fade out for the next thing to appear, this has all been created through editing.

Overall I have found that making the childrens film has been harder than I though and reqires more individual work and team work.

MUSIC/SOUND

Our music for our children's film opening is calm and indulging for children. We have not used any loud sudden effects as we want to create a relaxed background for our scene with no intimidating sounds. We have repeated a few sound effects to emphasis the appearance of each fairy. Furthermore we have used a forest sound which links in with the scene. It includes birds to make the scene subtle. In the early stages of the music we have used a sound effect which sounds when the sun is shown.
